Aleksandr Haskin, Principal Flute of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, will show flutists in his Master Class that it is possible to change one’s sound completely, with focus on the airstream, posture and an array of techniques that he will share. For those interested in stepping beyond their normal studies, Circular Breathing and Beatboxing will be shared! Aleksandr is a celebrated Burkart Artist.
REZA NAJFAR Don’t Blow It
With an extensive career as Conservatory Professor, Flute & Alto Flute soloist, chamber music performer, recording artist and composer, Reza Najfar will offer a new and advanced way of flute playing in which effortlessness and ease is in the foreground. YUJIAN ZHU Maybe It Works!
Through trail and error, and even having gotten a late start with his flute studies, Yujian Zhu none-the-less became a performer and teacher in China. He has discovered that each flutist he teaches has their own path, each their own strengths, and he has a keen sense of helping in the areas to be developed.
Yujian’s thoughtful guidance will prove to each of his students that there is not only ”one right way” to create as a flute artist! In the 50 years in the business of keeping flutes playing, Anne Pollack has distilled some of the crucial information and concepts of emergency repair and maintenance into a class that enables the actively playing flutist (and flute teacher as well) to do repairs and adjustments on their nts’ instruments.
Anne’s background in training Repair Technicians at Powell Flutes (as head of the repair department) has allowed her to adapt her teaching into an accessible and workable approach, regardless of whether a student has any prior experience with repairs.
